Smart terminals can accept payments in several ways. Your customer can swipe their card through your terminal’s reader. They can dip (insert) a chip card into it. Or, they can tap or wave their card, mobile device, or wearable within a few inches of your terminal to securely make a contactless payment. The cardholder’s unique information will then be submitted to their merchant services provider, who will forward the data on to the cardholder’s bank. If the transaction is approved by the bank and the cardholder has sufficient funds to make the purchase, the payment will be accepted. The proceeds will then be sent to the merchant services provider, who will forward them to your merchant account.

There are two options for funding, both fast and both free. With Next Day Funding, transactions processed and closed Monday through Friday before 10 p.m. ET will be deposited into your bank account the next business day. Transactions closed on the weekend will be deposited on Monday. With Same Day Funding, all transactions closed and processed before 10:30 a.m. ET are deposited into your account that same day.
